Many of you may know that horses are very dear to my heart, and being able to document that passion with my photography is nothing short of a blessing!
Another huge blessing to my soul has been the addition of my off the track Thoroughbred. He has given my so much joy and laughter! <3 Many of you might not quite grasp that concept, how can I possibly be this attached to an animal? Well he is truly an extension of myself, just like a child!
Please don’t take offense to this fact, but really only another passionate “horse person” is going to identify with this!
I have recently re-entered the dressage ring and as a result I felt it was best for me to move my horse from our current boarding location. Within the last few months I decided to move to another farm where I could easily access more dressage training for him and I.
I knew that the farm would be Gorgeous when everything started blooming! I couldn’t wait to capture the farms beauty with my camera!
Now onto my recent addictions!
I had rented the lovely Canon Prime 50mm 1.2 from lensrentals.com, and of course fell in love with it all over again while shooting my horse in the gorgeous green grass!! Some of my favorite shots are below, the grass was so green and the sun was shining, a perfect day for horse photography!
I think my horse is loving his new home, hopefully just as much as I am!;) I am surrounded by great people and great riders!
I also had recently downloaded the Hipstamatic App for my iphone, and this to has become a go to app for me while on the go and wanting to grab a quick shot. Well the weather was (beyond!) amazing over the next few days and I snapped a few shots of my horse out in the field! The John S lens and the Kodot xGrizzled film are some of my favorite effects. Although the new Buckhorse H1 is becoming a new favorite! I also posted some of my favorite horse related images from this app.
Comments are appreciated and encouraged! I hope you enjoy my photos, and I hope that I have captured the Equine in such a way that you feel the power and beauty as much as I do!
that’s all for now….until next time, keep shooting your memories!
the last two images are with my Hipstamatic App!

Great blog entry Lisie! Seeing tiny Larz & big Pip next to each other is so cool! From one extreme to the other, you always know the best ways to capture great images of your subjects! And I must say, Larz had a great time in studio too! All of the excitement wore him out and he slept so well that night! Thanks again for a great session! We had a blast!
…and I can’t wait to place our order! The products you showed me are really awesome & unique too. I’m going to have a hard time choosing!
